The wisdom of silence
Beyond the visible world lies another — a realm of dreams, intuition and hidden knowledge.
The High Priestess stands at the threshold of the unconscious, where silence becomes awareness and what is concealed begins to reveal itself.

THE WORLD WITHIN
After discovering the power of conscious will through the Magician, the Hero encounters the High Priestess — guardian of the hidden world.
She does not offer knowledge through action or explanation, but through silence, patience and attention.
At her feet, the water lies still. Beneath its calm surface, however, another world exists — one of dreams, fears, desires and forgotten images.
Her lesson is not to control what lies within, but to become quiet enough to perceive it.
Some truths cannot be forced into the light. They must be allowed to emerge.

DETAILS & SYMBOLS
Each element reveals a layer of meaning.

THE WATER — THE GREAT UNKNOWN
Across many mythological traditions, water represents the unknown — the primordial depths from which life emerges and the mysterious realm beyond human understanding. The High Priestess stands within these waters, embodying their essential nature: stillness, receptivity, intuition and hidden potential. The calm surface separates the visible world from the invisible. Beneath it lie dreams, memories, fears and possibilities that have not yet taken form. Water is not merely the setting of the sculpture. It is the symbolic element of the High Priestess herself — the gateway to everything that remains unseen.
THE EMERGING HEAD — THE HIDDEN CONSCIOUSNESS
Behind the High Priestess, a mysterious head rises from the water, its branches extending outward like those of an ancient tree. In Jungian psychology, it evokes the collective unconscious — the deep reservoir of archetypes and primordial images shared by humanity, reaching beyond individual memory and experience. In a spiritual or mythological interpretation, the head may represent a universal consciousness, ancestral wisdom or even the will of the gods — an invisible presence emerging from the unknown. The branches suggest growth and the living connection between hidden knowledge and the visible world, as though consciousness itself were taking form.
THE DRAGON — THE NIGHTMARE
The dragon embodies the darker side of the dream world: nightmares, fears and disturbing images emerging from the unconscious. Yet the dragon is not simply an evil creature. It also represents the unknown aspects of ourselves that we fear to confront. What appears threatening may conceal a deeper truth. In this sense, the dragon becomes both an obstacle and a possible guide toward self-knowledge.
THE UNICORN — THE DREAM
The unicorn represents the luminous side of the dream world: beautiful dreams, imagination, innocence and the longing for harmony. Where the dragon evokes fear, the unicorn suggests hope, beauty and the possibility of inner transformation. Both creatures emerge from the same symbolic depths, reminding us that the unconscious contains not only darkness, but also wonder and creative potential.
THE DRAGON & THE UNICORN — TWO FACES OF THE UNKNOWN
The dragon and the unicorn are not simply opposites of evil and good. They represent different expressions of the same mysterious world. Nightmares and beautiful dreams, fear and hope, darkness and light all arise from depths beyond conscious control. Their coexistence suggests that true self-knowledge requires accepting the whole of our inner world rather than seeking only what comforts us.
THE HIGH PRIESTESS — GUARDIAN OF THE UNSEEN
Standing within the water, the High Priestess becomes a mediator between conscious awareness and the mysterious world beneath its surface. Unlike the Magician, whose power lies in action and conscious will, hers lies in stillness, intuition and receptivity. She does not command the forces surrounding her. She listens, observes and allows what is hidden to reveal itself.
Her wisdom is not the possession of answers, but the ability to remain before the unknown without fear, trusting that understanding may emerge from silence.

THE DEPTHS OF THE UNCONSCIOUS
In the symbolic language of the Tarot, the High Priestess represents hidden knowledge, intuition and the mystery of what lies beyond conscious understanding. She guards a world that cannot be entered through will alone.
In alchemical terms, she evokes the receptive and transformative qualities of water — the medium in which fixed forms soften, dissolve and reveal possibilities that were previously concealed.
In Jungian psychology, she can be understood as an image of the unconscious, whose language often emerges through dreams, symbols and imagination.
The dragon and the unicorn embody contrasting aspects of this inner world: fear and beauty, darkness and light, nightmare and dream.
Yet neither can be understood in isolation. Both belong to the same psyche, and both may contribute to the gradual discovery of the Self.
The High Priestess does not promise immediate answers. She invites us to remain with the unknown until something meaningful begins to emerge.

THE HIDDEN LABYRINTH
The journey continues beneath the sculpture.
Beneath every statue lies a labyrinth — the hidden symbol of our inner journey, the secret path belonging only to each soul who dares to walk it.
No two lives follow the same route. The path turns, returns, divides and surprises us. What appears to be a detour may become part of the transformation.
The path is never straight.
