On the Hesitation to Explain
Since I do not possess extensive writing skills nor the deep scholarly knowledge, I have opted to frame this foreword with the words of others, allowing their insights to guide the reflection. The quotes are meant to illuminate the path, while my own voice remains as a humble companion. As the creator of this tarot-inspired sculptural collection, I have often felt the tension between wanting to explain and knowing that true meaning cannot be handed over. Each symbol in these statues carries a universe of interpretations — histories, archetypes, personal associations — that no single explanation could ever capture. Each viewer, in decoding the symbol, completes it — for meaning is never given, only awakened.
“The symbol does not offer answers, but invitations — to see, to feel, to remember.” — Mircea Eliade
I hesitate to impose my own narrative because a symbol’s power lies in its openness. Each viewer brings their own Self to the encounter, and only in that meeting is meaning awakened. Each viewer, in decoding the symbol, completes it — for meaning is never given, only awakened. For me, a sculpture speaks only if the viewer is ready to hear it. Some may feel its resonance immediately; others may sense only form. Contemplating a symbol is like entering a field of resonance, an echo chamber of meanings both ancient and personal.
“Symbols are powerful because they are the visible signs of invisible realities.” — Saint Augustine
Symbols catalyze alchemical transformation: they illuminate shadow, reveal hidden potential, and help bring the Self into alignment with a higher order. The piece may speak, or it may remain silent, waiting for the moment the viewer is ready.
“Through symbol, the Self comes to know itself.” — Carl Jung,
In this way, the sculptures act as mirrors, reflecting universal archetypes and the singular journey of each individual. The hesitation to explain is not avoidance, but respect for the profound, alchemical journey each viewer must take.
I decided to add descriptions to the statues, not to dictate meaning, but simply to show the things that determined me to use one element or another — the choices, the intuitions, and the experiences that guided the creation of each piece.

FOOL
The Journey of the Fool: An Alchemical Passage
Here begins the journey. The Hero steps onto the Path, leaving behind the familiar, the secure, and the known. Under the archetype of the Fool, he crosses the threshold of the unknown — a leap of faith that demands trust, curiosity, and openness. Certainty is abandoned, control relinquished, and the ordinary dissolves into the extraordinary. Every step forward is a trial, yet within this descent lies the promise of revelation: the unveiling of the true self, hidden beneath habit, expectation, and societal constraint.
The Fool is the central symbol of transformation, a figure resonating through alchemy, myth, and Jungian psychology. In alchemical terms, he embodies the prima materia, the raw potential that contains all possibilities before form, the chaotic substance that must be refined into wisdom. In myth, he is the eternal wanderer, the hero at the threshold, the trickster whose innocence opens the door to adventure and change. From a Jungian perspective, he represents the archetype of the Self at the beginning of individuation — the unformed, untested, and vulnerable aspect of the psyche ready to confront the unknown and integrate experience.
He renounces his castle, the emblem of earthly security and ego. Only by leaving this bastion can the Fool truly begin his journey of transformation. Standing before the mystery, he surrenders to the unknown, acknowledging that true growth requires humility and openness. Across his back rests a guitar, its form vibrating with the higher harmonies of the soul, a symbol of resonance and attunement to the subtle rhythms of life. At his ear, a small carved head upon the guitar embodies the secret mystical calling — the inner voice that illuminates hidden paths and invites the Hero toward deeper awareness. In his hand, the delicate flower symbolizes wisdom and spiritual beauty; at his side, the loyal dog bridges instinct and conscious insight, guiding the Fool with both warning and encouragement.
The Fool’s blouse bears the sun, radiant and luminous, symbolizing vitality, consciousness, and the guiding light of awareness. His bag, adorned with stars, evokes the infinite possibilities of the cosmos, the hidden wisdom of the night, and the dreamlike guidance of intuition. Together, these celestial symbols remind him that both light and darkness, day and night, external and internal worlds, are part of his journey.
He is light, naïve, almost childlike — the eternal child of the Tarot. Teetering at the edge of an abyss, he embraces the world not as threat but as a canvas of wonder, where every encounter and every risk becomes an opportunity for growth. The coiling serpent winds around him, a living symbol of danger, the unknown, and the first fear every traveler must confront — a reminder that the path of initiation always begins with facing what is frightening and unfamiliar. It also reflects life’s eternal cycles and the inward reflection each experience provokes. At this stage, he lacks perspective or foresight, fully surrendered to the present moment, guided by instinct, curiosity, and the subtle pull of his inner voice. Every step is part of the alchemical process: the dissolution of old certainties (nigredo), the awakening of inner awareness (albedo), and the slow distillation of wisdom into conscious light (rubedo).
The figure steps forward, poised between earth and air, limbs extended in fluid motion, the gaze lifted in trust and wonder. Smooth and rough textures interplay, suggesting the tension between stability and chaos, material and spirit. Drapery flows around the figure like wind, frozen yet alive, while the circular, uneven base grounds the form. Beneath the base lies a subtle labyrinth, symbolizing each and every one of us — our personal journey, unique experiences, challenges, and discoveries. It reminds us that the path of life is never straight; growth requires navigating twists, turns, and hidden corridors within the self.
In this way, the Fool stands as the central symbol of the human journey, uniting myth, psyche, and alchemy: a living testament to trust, courage, and the wonder of stepping into the unknown. His leap, the music of the soul, the flower of wisdom, the loyal companion, the coiling serpent as the first fear to face, the labyrinth beneath his feet, the celestial guidance, and the cycles of life are all captured in form, a frozen heartbeat within the infinite dance of metamorphosis.
Beneath every statue lies a labyrinth, the hidden symbol of our inner journey — the secret path belonging only to each soul who dares to walk it.

MAGICIAN
The Magician – the power within
As you, the Fool, step onto the path of initiation, the first figure you encounter is the Magician — the embodiment of Fire, the spark of creation, the active, masculine principle, and the master of manifestation. He is the bridge between Spirit and Matter, between the infinite and the tangible, the living current that ignites the alchemical transformation of the soul.
At the center of his chest glows a hollow figure-eight, the eternal emblem of infinity, unity, and the ceaseless flow of energy. It is the alchemical heart of creation: a symbol of balance, harmony, and endless transformation, where beginnings and endings merge, where intention flows seamlessly into action, and where Spirit circulates through Matter in an unbroken cycle.
This hollow eight is also the luminous gateway of the Light Body — the subtle vessel through which consciousness radiates beyond form. It mirrors the esoteric teachings that speak of awakening inner light, of transmuting density into radiance, and of allowing Spirit to flow freely through the purified heart. Through this symbol, the Magician embodies the living union of energy and awareness — the birth of divine light within matter, ignited and sustained by Fire, the active, transformative force.
Coiling around his body, a serpent rises and falls like a living river of energy. It is the kundalini, the latent Fire within all beings — the transformative flame that awakens consciousness, cycles through creation and destruction, and embodies the alchemical principle of eternal renewal. This sacred Fire purifies, energizes, and awakens latent potential, turning the raw material of the soul into spiritual gold.
Behind him, an ancient emblem of Sun and Moon entwined in flames radiates cosmic wisdom — day and night, light and shadow, duality and union, time and eternity — all intertwined within the eternal Fire of existence. The flames reflect the same active, masculine energy that courses through the Magician: the cosmic spark that ignites manifestation and sustains the dance of creation.
Before him lies a table of sacred tools, each imbued with symbolic power — the mastery of the elements:
The Graal, a vessel of receptivity, divine possibility, and the potential of all things — Water.
The Wand, channel of the active principle, spiritual Fire, and focused will that shapes reality — Fire, the instrument of initiation, illumination, and transformation.
The Coins, symbols of earthly mastery, grounded wisdom, and the materialization of thought into form — Earth.
The Sword, blade of clarity and discernment, cutting through illusion to reveal truth — Air.
The Magician thus becomes the Master Alchemist, harmonizing the four elemental forces — Water, Fire, Earth, and Air — and transforming them through conscious will. As Fire incarnate, he embodies the masculine, active principle: the initiatory spark, the creative force that drives all manifestation, the purifying flame that alchemy venerates as both destroyer and creator. Fire reveals hidden truths, dissolves stagnation, and transmutes matter into Spirit. He is the living link between heaven and earth, Spirit and Matter, the visible and the unseen.
In his form one might glimpse the archetype of a Christ-like figure, an embodiment of the fifth element — Spirit, or Ether — that unites and transcends the four material elements. This evokes the idea of divine balance: mastery not as domination, but as sacred alignment with the creative intelligence of the cosmos.
Yet, his apparent levitation reveals a hidden paradox. The Magician seems to float effortlessly above the ground — yet in truth, he is seated upon his own cape, which supports him unseen. This subtle illusion carries a warning: that appearances can deceive, that even enlightenment can be mimicked. It reminds us to discern between genuine mastery and the illusion of power — between the true adept and the charlatan cloaked in borrowed light.
Beneath his table, the shadow of the Devil lingers — the eternal reminder that all power carries risk. Without vigilance, discipline, and conscious awareness, mastery may falter, giving rise to attachment, ignorance, or chaos. The Magician’s tools, like Fire itself, may create or destroy; the path demands balance, clarity, and intention.
Through the Magician, the Fool learns that desire alone cannot manifest. Effort, discipline, and conscious action are the alchemical keys. He is reminded that he is the creator of his own reality — that mastery is born within — and that the subtle energies of the universe respond only to deliberate, awakened will.
Every element — the hollow eight on his chest, the coiling serpent, the Sun and Moon, the sacred tools, the illusion of levitation, and the lurking Devil — reveals a layer of esoteric truth. They embody the alchemy of existence: the harmonization of opposites, the union of Spirit and Matter, the mastery of elements, and the delicate balance of shadow and light. Fire courses through it all, the active agent of transformation, illuminating the path of consciousness and awakening the latent spark within.
At this threshold, the teachings of alchemy and esoteric traditions converge — all speaking of the Light Body, the inner temple of luminosity built through awareness, purity, and integration. Yet, as Carl Jung revealed, true illumination does not arise from rejecting the dark but from integrating it. Individuation — the process of becoming whole — requires one to acknowledge, accept, and reconcile the shadow. Only by embracing both light and darkness does the Magician become complete, transmuting the raw matter of the psyche into spiritual gold.
The Magician is the eternal agent of transformation, the Fire that shapes worlds, the conscious presence that bends reality. To stand before him is to glimpse the hidden currents of creation, to awaken the latent power within, and to begin the long, sacred work of turning thought into form, desire into reality, and shadow into light.
The sculpture’s patina shifts across its versions — from deep bronze to oxidized green to grungy, weathered hues — each finish resonating with a distinct emotional tone: rebirth, decay, and transcendence. The circular base, worn yet eternal, evokes ceaseless motion, as if the sculpture captures but a single frame in an infinite cycle of metamorphosis — a frozen heartbeat within the alchemical dance of the cosmos.
Beneath the base of every statue lies a labyrinth — a hidden symbol of the inner path. It represents our unique, unrepeatable journey through the mysteries of existence, a secret map engraved beneath the surface, belonging only to each soul who dares to walk its winding path.
This Arcana is both a lesson and a challenge: mastery is possible, but only for those who act with clarity, courage, and reverence for the forces they seek to command. The Fool learns that true power is never given; it is claimed, tempered, and harmonized — flowing endlessly through the hollow eight of the heart, through Fire, and through the eternal cycles of life itself.

HIGH PRIESTESS
High Priestess - the other half
Step into the enigmatic world of the High Priestess, where water flows as the source of all life, carrying the currents of subconscious, intuition, and hidden knowledge. If the Magician embodies fire—manifestation, action, and the conscious will—the High Priestess embodies water—both as a tangible material and as the flowing currents of all that lies beneath. Water is the mirror of reality, reflecting the world around it just as our emotions reflect the inner currents of our lives. True mastery of the elements, or of oneself, cannot be achieved without acknowledging and integrating these waters—the unseen forces that guide thought, action, and transformation. Water also embodies the hidden parts of our soul that act and decide without our conscious awareness, guiding us quietly and profoundly.
The title “The Other Half” reflects the timeless archetypal balance between anima and animus—the feminine within the masculine, and the masculine within the feminine. It also evokes these concealed currents of the soul, showing that wholeness emerges through the integration of the hidden and the conscious. Each sculpture explores this inner complement, inviting contemplation of the forces flowing within us, shaping our choices, emotions, and perception.
Each element carries layered symbolism: unicorns embody the purity of spirit and the quest for the Philosopher’s Stone, guiding transformation. Dragons, fierce and ancient, represent the raw, untamed energies of the subconscious—both the darker, repressed memories and nightmares, and the lighter, dreamlike, and hopeful aspects. Like water, these forces must be acknowledged, navigated, and integrated to achieve mastery of self and elements alike.
Two fish in the foreground flow in eternal dance, embodying the alchemical union of Yin and Yang, the fluidity of emotions, and the albedo stage of spiritual purification. A radiant lotus rises from the composition, representing enlightenment and spiritual awakening—the manifestation of inner gold (rubedo) and the culmination of the Great Work.
At the heart of the sculpture, a large head emerges from the water, symbolizing the depths of the subconscious mind, intuition, and hidden wisdom. It may also evoke the collective unconscious (Jung).
Two spiraling water waves rise and intertwine around the figure, forming a gateway—a threshold between conscious and subconscious, the visible and invisible, inviting the viewer to enter the hidden realms of the self.
Water here is both substance and symbol: it reflects reality, mirrors the state of the inner world, and connects the spiraling gateway above to the labyrinth beneath the base.
This creates a reflective journey, where the currents of emotion, the hidden self, and the path of the labyrinth flow together, guiding the viewer from the surface of life into the depths of their psyche.
This emergent head embodies inner alchemy: the conscious encounter with hidden truths, the integration of shadow into light, and the recognition that our deepest wisdom comes from currents within, including those we do not fully control or understand.
The central figure, human yet transcendent, bends backward in a fluid, almost dance-like posture. This pose symbolizes not only movement and the flow of transformation but also stillness, worship, and a mystical invocation, a reverent acknowledgment of unseen forces and the power of emotions.
Flowing tendrils, shell-like textures, and spiraling flora and waves emanating from the depths suggest the eternal rhythm of life and the cycles of transformation: nigredo, albedo, rubedo.
Through the interplay of color, form, and symbolism, this collection offers a meditative journey into the hidden depths of the self. Each sculpture becomes an alchemical mirror, reflecting the reconciliation of anima and animus—the inner other half that completes us. Beneath every statue lies a labyrinth, the hidden symbol of our inner journey — the secret path belonging only to each soul who dares to walk it.

JUSTICE
JUSTICE - Entering the Subconscious Realm
This is the threshold where we cross from the material world, governed by reason, into the domain of the subconscious — a realm ruled by intuition, mystery, and the unseen forces that shape the soul. In the grand journey of the Major Arcana, the path unfolds in three great movements: the first seven cards reflect the material realm and the formation of identity; the next seven guide us into the emotional and subconscious dimension, where the inner world emerges; and the final three open the gates to the spiritual plane, where consciousness transcends form.
This sculpture stands precisely at that second threshold — the passage from visible to invisible, from reason to emotion, from surface to depth. Her posture embodies equilibrium, a balance of forces, suggesting that true harmony is achieved only when we engage with the subconscious — when we descend into the depths of emotion, memory, and intuition.
Alchemical symbols of fire and water adorn the tissue on her arms, silently declaring the union of opposites. Fire, like the mind, illuminates, drives action, and structures perception; water, like the heart, flows, nurtures, and dissolves boundaries. Together they form the alchemical marriage of opposites — coniunctio oppositorum — the foundation of inner transformation. Jung reminds us that individuation requires integrating these polarities: intellect and emotion, brain and heart, conscious and unconscious.
Her wings, trapped within the earthen soil, hint at latent potential: once we master our inner selves, we gain extraordinary powers — the ability to soar, to move freely, to manifest insight and freedom. They also signal that we have entered a new realm — the realm of imagination — where anything is possible, whether wondrous or terrifying. The angel-like figure embodies this passage: a guide through a space where the mind can create, dream, and confront both the luminous and shadowed aspects of possibility.
The sculpture thus illustrates the journey from inner descent to the awakening of latent wings, showing that true power and imagination arise from the integration of shadow, feeling, and reason.
Here, the subconscious is no abstract void, but a living landscape of emotions and memories — those that surface and those that lie buried, forgotten, or repressed. It is an ocean of feeling, a labyrinth of echoes from our own experiences. Within this vast interior, every fragment of memory becomes guide and obstacle, mirror and gatekeeper.
Before we cross, we are reminded: intuition must lead here. Reason falters in these depths, where hidden, shadowed aspects of the psyche rise to the surface. The heart she bears, heavy and lowered, carries the gravity of truths long submerged.
The gate before her, monstrous and alive, guards the entrance to this inner abyss: a threshold demanding courage, confrontation, and revelation.
All forms emerge half-anchored in the muddy earth, as though reason itself is ensnared by the subconscious — unseen, yet binding. The mud that grips her feathers is the same matter from which the portal itself seems to emerge — as if the gateway to transcendence is born from the substance that imprisons us. It is the psyche’s paradox: we must descend into our fears to pass beyond them, and liberation is forged in the very depths we dread to enter. Yet it is precisely here, in the confrontation with darkness, that freedom begins. To meet and embrace the shadow is to invite transformation — to turn darkness into light, chaos into creation.
The sword, both divider and unifier, becomes the instrument of this alchemy. It severs illusions separating reason from intuition, allowing them to coexist in balance — a harmony of mind and spirit. Through this act, the self discovers wholeness: an integration of shadow and radiance, intellect and instinct, memory and emotion, into a single luminous awareness.
The sculpture’s textures — flowing tendrils, earthen weight, coiled organic forms — pulse with life’s eternal rhythm: growth, decay, and renewal. It stands as both portal and mirror, inviting us to gaze inward, confront the hidden currents of the soul, and recognize that true transformation begins within.
This is more than a sculpture.
It is a journey — a passage into mystery, magic, and the sacred depths of the self. A call to witness, to feel, to remember, and ultimately, to transform. Beneath every statue lies a labyrinth, the hidden symbol of our inner journey — the secret path belonging only to each soul who dares to walk it.
